Briliant Gretsch Guitar Rhythm & Blues singer-songwriter
(duo/band) from Amsterdam .Arthur, a pure live musician,
known for his outstanding guitar technique, plays about
200 gigs a year, Has 5 solo albums out thus far.
He tours the UK twice a year and Spain once every year,
played the renown North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague ,
is very well respected amongst musicians and press in Holland .
Was support to Taj Mahal, Joan Armatrading to name a few.
He was the closing act on the main stage of the Jazz In Duketown festival in Den Bosch (NL) after Jean Toets Tielemans.
Live Arthur often plays his Rhythm &Happy-Blues in jazz and bluesclubs in the duo setting but he can handle huge stages as well with a very good band with the well known Roy Bakker (ao Herman Brood)) on drums, Ronald de Jong (Shane McGowan, Big Jay McNeely, Boyd Small, nominated for best Dutch blues bassist in 2010) and Arend Bouwmeester (a.o. Clemens v.d. Ven) – saxophone.
Arthur plays a ’63 Gretsch and a ’66 Fender Bassman amp (in case you are interested).
He gives Gretsch clinics and had a Gretsch endorsement to prove he is an outstanding guitarist.
Arthur's music is a mixture of very good originals and his versions of songs by Ray Charles, Chet Atkins, Cole Porter, Hank Williams, Duke Ellington, Eddie Cochrane, Burt Bacharac, Henry Mancini etc etc
